Oslo

We decided to go to Oslo because it was one of the cheapest flights from Iceland to continental Europe. We only stayed for one night, but it exceeded my expectations!

After arriving at the hostel we’d booked we went around the city a bit. We found ourselves in the Oslo pride festival and we hung out there for a bit observing. It was interesting to be somewhere surrounded completely by people speaking a language you don’t even remotely know.

We wandered around some more and found a cool old building (something with the monarchy I think) with a good view of the city.

After our first sleep in a hostel, we woke up and packed our things and enjoyed a very nice breakfast. I ate a lot of bread and maybe a croissant? Then we headed down to an old castle and checked out a museum about the role of Norway during WWII.

Ultimately, Oslo was a neat place and I think I’d go back. The sun, like in Iceland, was out for a very long time, but with curtains in the hostel we were able to sleep very well :)

We next took a combination of buses and trains from Oslo to Copenhagen. We accidentally sat on the dog car and ended up making two new pet friends :)
